About
Quantum Corral
Quantum
Corral was started in New York City in 1996 by Jorge
A.González and Kathlyn Tenga-González.
We have
45+ years of combined experience in creative and
production work. We’ve worked at some of the most demanding ad agencies,
public
relations firms, and design studios in New York City.
As Manager of Creative
Services for the PR firm Creamer Dickson Basford,
Jorge worked on national accounts such as Ocean Spray,
Skippy, Pizza Hut and the Idaho Potato Commission.
At Quantum Corral, we designed the interfaces of two
CD ROM games: Christina Aguilera’s Follow Your
Dreams for Simon and Schuster and Mary-Kate and
Ashley’s Dance Party of the Century for
Acclaim Entertainment.
We also designed the interfaces for web-based games for Cablevision. You can see (and play) the latter by clicking on the links found on our Web & Interactive section here.
We relocated to Bangor,
Maine in 2000. For the waters.
Among our past and
current clients are CBS, Norbrook Communications, Lippincott
Williams & Wilkins, Blackwell Publishing, Elsevier, the Maine
Discovery Museum, Arcady Music Society, and the Bangor
Region Partners for Health.
We’re founding
members of River
City Cinema and produce all the advertising, promotion,
marketing and graphic design for this vital cultural
organization.
We have the professional
skills, experience and moxie to help you achieve
your goals.
About the Quantum
Corral Principals
The first time Jorge
A. González held a composing stick, he was hooked. It was a graphic arts class in ninth grade. That day, he realized type & design would shape his life.
There were detours. (Music—the rockstar career path beckoned, but its siren's call was muted by the harsh realities of the music business.) But the call of the ink was too strong. Other forays into painting, photography and videomaking always ended up in graphic design somehow.
He applied himself. Through effort and discipline, he mastered the tools of the trade.
When the Mac came along, he jumped right in and never looked back. The thought of never again having to draw a Scotch rule with a ruling pen was motivation enough.
He teaches (and preaches)
Graphic Design at the Main Campus of the University
of Maine in Orono.
He’s fluent in
Spanish and will summon his French, when needed, to make
a point. He did quite well traveling through Italy with a phrasebook, a determined look in his eye, and plenty of hand gestures.

Kathlyn
Tenga-González learned about
product loyalty at an early age when she discovered
the unique flavor of the frozen custard served at
the Gertz department store in Hicksville, NY.
She’s on a Proustean quest
and is convinced that someone, somewhere is still serving
it and she’ll get to taste it one more time.
(So, it’s not
as chic as dipping a madeleine in hot tea, but just you
wait, once you taste that custard...)
Kathy’s editorial illustration
work has appeared in Newsday, Art Direction magazine,
Publisher’s Weekly and
the Utne Reader. She illustrated the covers of several of
“the best of” travel book series for Crown Publishers.
Along the way she
earned a Grand Diplôme in Basic French
Cooking from the French Culinary Institute.
